“Kwaa-ga-la” Means Love
Kwagala is a non-profit in Jinja, Uganda with a home for children who live on the streets
Kwagala exists to provide relief to children living on the street by providing a home and education. Our social workers work hard to build relationships with the families of the children and when possible, resettlement back into their families is the main goal.
Kwagala is currently raising support to build a permanent home
After purchasing 3 acres of land, we are now in the 2nd of four phases and driving toward $225,000 for the construction of a permanent boys home.
Our Vision
Children run to the street for different reasons.
Some are abused, neglected or orphaned. Others run away to seek the freedom and substances that life on the street fosters.
Our vision is to help those who have no choice but to call the street their home.

Meet Raoul
Director of Kwagala
From my perspective (Robbie typing as we update the website), Raoul’s my friend and brother—one of the best guys I know.
I met Raoul in 2012, two years after high school. My cousin knew him from her time living in Uganda in ’07. I didn’t know who he was when I called her to discuss her experience in Uganda. “You should totally stay with my friend Raoul. He and his family are the best. You will love him.”
And she was right. I took her word for it and booked a round-trip ticket for 10 months.
Raoul made me feel so comfortable. He greeted me with a big smile at the airport, and I recognized him immediately. He had two good friends with him, and it was hugs all around—as if we had all met before. (continued)
